Cementation Canada Opens New North American Maintenance Facility

October 27, 2017

NORTH BAY –Community leaders, guests and company employees participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony and tour to officially open the newest addition to Cementation’s North Bay operations. This new facility significantly increases work and warehouse space as well as provides enhanced lifting, electrical and compressed air capacity to further support the servicing of Cementation’s underground fleets, raise boring plants and shaft sinking equipment which is utilized on mining projects around the globe.

Located adjacent to the company’s existing shop, the new facility and expanded staging area is situated within North Bay’s city limits. The shop has a dedicated and environmentally isolated electrical shop and is capable of operating and testing electrical motors up to 600 H.P., along with a compressed air system to allow for the operation and testing of pneumatic equipment. In addition, new 50 and 20 metric ton overhead cranes have been installed as well as embedded floor anchors to secure hoists and winches for testing. The increased capacity will allow for additional staff to be hired as the need for Cementation’s services continues to grow.

Roy Slack, President of Cementation Canada said, “This new facility expands our capabilities to better service our projects and reinforces our commitment to continue to support our clients’ needs.” Cementation will continue to utilize its existing 10,000 sq. ft. shop, built in 2006, as heated warehousing space and for shipping/receiving.
