North Bay, ON – On Sunday, April 28, 2019, the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) at their Annual General Meeting in Montreal recognized Roy Slack as the new President of the CIM for a one year term.
Roy Slack was formerly President and is currently on the board of directors of Cementation Americas. Slack said “I am very proud and passionate about the mining industry and getting involved in the CIM is a great way to channel that passion into support of our industry.”
The CIM is composed of 10,000 members, more than 30 branches, and 10 technical societies right across Canada. The not-for-profit organization is primarily made up of volunteers and is focused on creating and sharing leading-edge knowledge, fostering a connected and engaged mining community, and expanding awareness of the essential contribution mining makes to society.
